The Zarrella Award

History

Beginning with the 1986 National Duckpin Youth Championships, the Zarrella Award has been presented at the National Tournament.  It goes to the national tournament bowler who bowls the most pins over their three-game average.

The award is named for Tom an Ray Zarrella who owned and operated the Garden City Lanes in Cranston, Rhode Island for 32 years.  After the center closed in 1985, at a banquet held in Tom and Ray's honor, a contribution was made to the NDYA for the creation of this everlasting award.
